Memorie ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use our wedding planning platform.
1. What Data We Collect
We collect the following types of personal information:
- Account information: names, email addresses, and phone numbers
- Wedding details: wedding date, venue, partner names, and wedding website content
- Guest information: names, email addresses, phone numbers, RSVP responses, dietary preferences, and plus-one details
- Gift registry data: gift selections and wishlists
- Payment information: transaction references for GCash/PayMaya payments (we do not store full payment credentials)
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns
2. Why We Collect It
We collect your data for the following purposes:
- Wedding planning and management
- RSVP tracking and guest list management
- Gift registry coordination
- Creating and hosting your wedding website
- Task management and wedding day planning
- Sending notifications and reminders related to your wedding
3. How We Use Your Data
Your personal information is used to:
- Provide and maintain the Memorie platform and its features
- Send email notifications (RSVP confirmations, reminders, updates)
- Manage guest lists and seating arrangements
- Process and track gift registry selections
- Improve and optimize our services
- Respond to your support requests
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- With the wedding couple: Guest data (RSVPs, dietary preferences, contact details) is shared with the couple who created the wedding
- Supabase: Our database hosting provider, which stores your data securely
- Vercel: Our deployment platform, which serves the application
- Resend: Our email service provider, used to send transactional emails
All third-party providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes of providing their services.
5. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
- Account deletion includes a 30-day grace period during which your data can be recovered, after which it is permanently deleted
- Guest data is retained until the wedding couple decides to remove it or deletes their account
- Wedding website content remains live until the couple takes it down or their account is deleted
6. Your Rights Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act
As a data subject under the Philippine DPA, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your personal data, subject to legitimate business or legal requirements
- Right to Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format
- Right to Object: You may object to the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances
- Right to File a Complaint: You may file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) if you believe your rights have been violated
7. How to Exercise Your Rights
You can exercise your data privacy rights at any time by emailing us at hello@memorie.ph or by using the account settings within the Memorie dashboard. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
8. Cookies
Memorie uses essential cookies only for session management and authentication. These cookies are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
9. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. Our database implements Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure that users can only access their own data. We maintain strict access controls and regularly review our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of your personal information.
